![]() Jeremy Tyson | Director of Player AdvancementJeremy Tyson has been a baseball player or a coach his entire life. Recognition of his playing ability came early in his career and earned him placements on All District and All City teams when he played at Mac Arthur High School in San Antonio, Texas. Upon graduation, he was one of only two baseball players in the city to sign to play baseball for a Division I institution. Jeremy played his freshman year at the University of Houston where he established himself as one of the outstanding pitchers in the nation. When he transferred to Louisiana State University for his sophomore year, he became an immediate impact player working his way into the starting rotation and establishing personal statistics that once again highlighted his talent. While at LSU, he helped lead the Tigers to two consecutive National Championships and was a highly scouted prospect by several major league clubs. In actuality, Tyson's coaching career began while he was still a player at LSU. He was invited by his legendary coach Skip Bertman to work with campers who came from throughout the nation to participate in Bertman’s youth camps. It was here that Tyson discovered his ability to share the game he loves with players of all ages. After graduation from LSU, he began his own summer Tiger Camps, a successful enterprise that lasted until he decided to commit to full time coaching duties at the Division I collegiate level. Over a six year period, Tyson was the pitching coach and head recruiter at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Southeast Missouri State University, and Stetson University. During those years, he was instrumental in producing several ERA title holders including Todd Pennington who was the National Division I ERA title holder in 2002. Under his tutelage, seven pitchers made the prestigious ten game winner lists, and nine were drafted by major league teams. At Stetson University, he delivered the 39th ranked Division I recruiting class of 2004. In the summer of 2002, Tyson was the head coach of the Nevada Griffons of the highly regarded Jay Hawk League. He steered his team to the NBC World Series and a third place finish. Tyson’s role in Hardball U is a natural merger of his abilities. He is committed to the development of an organization that will serve players of all ages as they discover their abilities and work to accomplish their dreams. |
